Haarlem oil, your spa care at home
Rheumatism and joint pain: where do they come from ?
Rheumatoid arthritis, are part of all the painful events relating to bones and joints more commonly known as rheumatism. There are four kinds of rheumatism:
Osteoporosis when the bone is affected.
Osteoarthritis when the cartilage is reached.
Tendonitis when the tendon is reached.
Rheumatoid arthritis when the synovium is reached.
Arthritis Rheumatoid like all arthritis is accompanied by joint effusion (synovitis), which has the effect of developing the synovial membrane. This thickening of the synovial membrane (pannus) causes pain in the joint (inflammation). When there is also an infection, rheumatoid arthritis becomes infectious. The aggravation may also damage the cartilage and bone, which leads to degenerative arthritis.
Haarlem Oil to treat Rheumatism ?
Haarlem Oil was discovered in 1696 in Holland by Claas Tilly and is used in FRANCE since 1924. Haarlem Oil is composed of three simple elements in a capsule of 200 mg: pine turpentine (80%), linseed oil (4%) and sulfur (16%).
The sulfurous waters of spa treatments have always been advocated by physicians in cases of joint pain. In the antiquity, the Romans already knew the benefits of sulfur and thus used public baths regularly. The sulfur has indeed attractive properties for the treatment of rheumatism and rheumatoid arthritis. It acts on the secretion of fluid intra-articular and promotes relaxation of the periarticular tissues. It also has a beneficial effect on damaged articular cartilage during degenerative processes such as rheumatoid arthritis.
An anti-inflammatory action of sulfur has also been demonstrated as well as antiseptic action. All this explains an addition of sulfur in the body triggers the natural production of corticosteroids (anti-inflammatory drugs), which will then decrease inflammation and allow tissue regeneration.
